Apple Hostels of Philadelphia

I stayed in a 6-bed male dorm. The room has plenty of shared space for you to store your personal belongings, and there are tall lockers for you to store your larger personal belongings. The room has a special "night light", which emits a very special dim light when you turn on the timer. It's such a smart idea for people not to wake up everyone in the room by turning on the main light, and I wish more hostels had "night light". The community bathroom is fine - 3 stalls in the male bathroom, which are never occupied at the same time. The toilet is pretty spacious too. The hostel does not provide free breakfast, which is a pity because the community kitchen is actually a pretty neat space for people to meet new friends. The hostel is located in a very convenient location - walk 8 minute to the subway station, and the major tourist attractions are within walking distance. It certainly helps that Philadelphia is quite walkable in general (just make sure you are walking in a safe neighborhood). The hostel is quite close to several bars, and if you like that it's good for you. If you don't like going out, don't worry since the noise isn't too bad.

This one must be the best hostel in the entire USA (at least that I'm aware of). The staff is very friendly and before coming here they even suggested me the cheapest and most convenient parking garage for my car. Very good vibes with ample common spaces where everybody hangs out: there's a pool table, a piano that I was happy to play and lots of table games. The kitchen is very large and equipped with every appliance. I even got lucky enough to be there for a free beer night. Rooms are definitely not overcrowded and we fit well in there. There is fully working air conditioning and the door is locked with the personal card. Also the showers are really nice with all the privacy needed (closed changing area right before them) and in general everything was perfectly functional and perfectly clean. There is also a big laundry room. There are lots of stairs to reach the fourth floor, but it's fine.

Nice hostel, perfect location, and very friendly staff. I loved the lounge and the kitchen area - very big, clean, well organised, and with all the things that you need :) Also.. I had lost a hat and gloves that I really like in the hostel, and the Apple Hostel staff very kindly mailed it to a friend of mine in the US where I could pick it up. They've been super kind and efficient! ;)

Decided to go here on an extended layover and I am so glad I did. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me and it worked out perfectly to have an economical place to lay down and have a hot shower. The added plus was that it’s right in the historical district of Philadelphia so once I rested up, I walked around and indulged in some of the most historical places in America. On top of THAT, the place is surrounded by amazing places to eat and drink which left me wanting to come back and stay longer so I could really do it justice. I highly recommend this place to the budget and/or social solo traveler. Best layover I’ve ever had.
